Hotel Guptaji

Hotel Guptaji is right on Railway Station Road in Palanpur. Being so close to the station means there is always noise from the trains and people rushing around with their bags. We’ve been at this 385001 address for a long time. The building is older, and you can tell if you look at the walls or the floor. It’s just how things are here. Most days are the same, starting when the first trains arrive in the morning. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure things are done. The street outside is usually crowded with rickshaws and vendors, so it’s never really quiet. We have some wooden furniture that’s seen better days, but it works for what we need. People come in, eat, and leave to catch their travel. There isn't much to say about the decor because we haven't changed it much in years. It feels like a typical station-side place. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, or a lightbulb needs changing, but we get around to it when we can. It’s a simple operation. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place for people passing through Palanpur. It gets dusty because of the road, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down. It's just our daily life here by the tracks. We keep the doors open and do our work. Nothing fancy ever happens, but we like the familiar faces that come back every week.
