Our spot is right there at Dhaniyana Chokdi, over by Jay Umiya Steel. It’s a busy intersection with a lot of trucks and tractors moving through all day long. We have been working out of this space for quite a while now. The building is simple and we don’t have any big signs or bright lights to show off. Most of the time, the floor is covered in bits of metal and some grease from the machines we use. We usually get here early to beat the heat, especially during the summer months when the shed gets really warm. It’s a small team here, just a few of us who have known each other for years. We handle the materials as they come in and try to stay on top of the pile. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have a big delivery, but we eventually sort it out. We don’t spend money on fancy furniture or a nice lobby because that isn't what we are about. We just need our tools and a bit of space to work. The neighbors around the chokdi are mostly in the same line of work, so we often borrow a wrench or a hammer from each other. It’s just the way things go around here. You can usually find us wearing our old work clothes and just getting through the daily list of things to do. We don't have a lot of visitors, just the delivery guys and occasionally the owner of the steel yard.
