Chandan Industries

Chandan Industries has been at Plot 85 and 86 for a good while now. The Gidc Estate is always noisy, but that’s just how it is here. Most mornings start with a quick tea and then we get right to the machines. It’s not a fancy place. We have some older equipment and some newer stuff too. It gets hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get through the day's list. Sometimes the orders come in fast and we have to stay late, other times it’s a bit slower and we catch up on maintenance. The guys here know what they’re doing. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty for visitors. We just focus on the metal and making sure the measurements are right. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. The floor is usually covered in some kind of scrap or oil, but that’s part of the job. People know where to find us if they need something made. We don't really do much advertising because word of mouth usually keeps us busy enough. It’s a steady life here in the estate. We’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot, doing the same work every day. It’s hard work, but it pays the bills and we like the routine of it.
