About Aruvi Exports – Agriculture & Farming in Palani
Down in the Dindigul district, specifically in Kothaimangalam, is where we do our daily thing. Our place is right at 1/31, a spot that most of the locals know if they live around here. Being in a rural area means things move a bit slower than in the big cities, which we don't mind. We deal with exports, so there’s always a lot of packing and loading happening in the yard. The trucks come in and out on the narrow roads, which can be a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes. We handle whatever crops are in season and try to get them ready for shipping as fast as we can. It’s often dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of a long day. There isn't much of a front office to speak of, just a small room with a wooden table where we keep the records. Most of the time we are outside checking the quality of the goods ourselves. The weather out here can be tough, especially when it rains and the ground gets all muddy. We’ve got a small crew of workers from the village who have been with us for a long time. We know the families around here and everyone helps out when it gets really busy during harvest. It’s a humble operation, nothing too big or complicated. We just focus on getting the boxes filled and the papers signed so the products can go where they need to.
