Sidhnath B.Ed College

This college is out in the village of Sandha-Japla, which is in the Palamau district of Jharkhand. It’s a bit of a journey from the bigger cities like Ranchi, but we are right here in the heart of the rural area. We focus on training people to become teachers. The campus is simple because we are in a village setting. You won't find any big city distractions here. Most of our students come from the surrounding districts and stay nearby. The life here is quiet and revolves around the academic calendar. We have classrooms that are basic but serve the purpose for lectures and workshops. There is a lot of open space around the college since we are in the countryside. Sometimes the roads getting here can be a bit rough during the rainy season, but everyone manages to make it to class. The staff here are used to the village pace of life. We don't have a lot of high-end equipment, but we have enough for the B.Ed course requirements. It’s a place where people come to get their qualifications so they can go back and teach in their own villages. You can see the students practicing their teaching skills in the local schools nearby sometimes. It’s a very practical, down-to-earth kind of place. We've become a fixture in the Palamau region over the years. It’s just us doing our work out here in Sandha-Japla, helping folks get their teaching start.
