Dav Model School

Dav Model School is right here in Garhwa. It’s been sitting in this spot for a long time. If you live in this part of the district, you probably pass by us quite often. The building is a solid structure, nothing too modern, but it does what it needs to do. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of benches and chalkboards. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech stuff or computers. The teachers are regular people who care about getting the job done. Every morning, there’s a bit of a rush when the kids arrive. Garhwa can be a bit slow-paced, so the school is usually the busiest place on the street. We deal with the usual stuff like broken windows or leaky taps that need fixing. It keeps us busy. We don’t really do big advertisements. Most people just know we are here. The kids come from all over the nearby villages. Some walk quite a distance to get here. We keep an eye on them until their parents pick them up. It’s a routine that hasn’t changed much over the years. We focus on the textbooks and the exams. There’s not a lot of extra fluff or fancy activities. It’s just a place for learning. The staff room is usually full of tea and stacks of notebooks waiting to be marked. That’s our life here. It’s practical and it works for the families in Garhwa. We don't need much else to keep going.
