Our place is Vakkulangara House, which is located at 15/220 in Kumranellur. Urban Wall Consultants Llp is run from here, and we also handle things for the Kappur area. It is basically a house that we use for our consulting work. It feels very personal because it’s not a cold office building. We have our desks set up in the rooms and there is usually a lot of paper everywhere. Being in Kumranellur means we are part of a small community. We talk to people about their walls and buildings and how to fix things or plan new stuff. It is very hands-on work. Sometimes we sit on the porch to discuss things when the weather is nice. We don't have a receptionist or a big waiting room. If you come by, you just walk in and talk to whoever is there. We spend a lot of time on site too, so the office can be empty some afternoons. It is a very simple way of doing business. We don't have any corporate manuals or fancy mission statements. We just look at the walls, do the consulting, and try to give honest advice based on what we see. It’s a bit of a messy office sometimes with all the samples and drawings, but we know where everything is. It’s just how we work and it suits us fine.
