Siva Engineers

Down here in Ottappalam, things move a little slower than in the big cities. Siva Engineers is just a small local operation where we handle whatever engineering tasks come our way. We don't have a big fancy sign or a glass front. It’s mostly just us and the machines in a space that’s seen better days. The humidity can be a real pain for the equipment, so we spend a lot of time cleaning and oiling things. People in town know us by name. They’ll drop by with a broken part or an idea for something they need made, and we see what we can do. There isn't a lot of ceremony here. We wear old clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s quiet and just watch the traffic. It’s a simple life, but the work is steady. We’ve got a couple of lathes and some welding gear that we’ve had for years. You get used to the smell of burnt metal and cutting fluid after a while. We aren't trying to change the world or anything. We just want to make sure the parts we make actually fit and work like they are supposed to. It’s just us doing our bit in this corner of Kerala. We like the quiet life here. Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: get the machine working again.
