Raja Signs

Raja Signs is located right on the National Highway Road in Alathur. We are very close to the Block Panchayat building, which makes us easy to find if you are driving through. Being on the highway means there is always a lot of wind and noise from the passing buses and cars. We get a lot of red dust coming in from the road, so we are always wiping down our tables. The shop is a simple structure. We don’t have air conditioning or anything like that. We just leave the front open to catch whatever breeze there is. Most days are spent cutting letters or painting boards. We have a couple of stools for people to sit on while they wait, but mostly folks just stand and chat. It’s a quiet area besides the traffic. Sometimes the cows from the nearby fields wander onto the road and slow everything down. We’ve been here for several years now. We know most of the people who work at the Panchayat. Sometimes they come over for a chat. We just do our work day by day. There isn’t much to it. We take our lunch breaks together in the back room. When the sun starts to go down, the light hits the front of the shop and it gets a bit bright. We close up when the street lights come on. It’s a steady routine for us and we like it.
