Niramaya Herbals is based out in Malampuzha, which is a nice change of pace from the big cities like Kochi or Palakkad. Being out here means we are closer to the plants and the natural environment we work with. It’s a lot quieter, and you can actually hear the birds instead of just traffic all day. Our building is a simple structure, nothing too fancy, just enough space for us to process our herbal products. We have a small group of local people working here, and many of us have been around since the start. We don't have a big corporate hierarchy; we just all pitch in where we are needed. Sometimes we are in the back handling the raw materials, and other times we are at the front dealing with the few visitors who stop by. The air is fresher here, though the humidity can be quite something during the monsoon months. We don't spend much time on marketing or trying to look polished. We just make the stuff we make and hope people find it useful for their health. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the city, but we get our work done and go home to our families. We like the fact that we are a local business rooted in this specific part of Kerala. It feels right for what we do. We’ve been here long enough that everyone in the village knows who we are.
