Malabar Hospital

Malabar Hospital is located right off NH-47 in West Yakkara. Being so close to the highway means we get all kinds of people stopping in. Some are just passing through and others live right here in West Yakkara. The sound of the traffic from NH-47 is always there in the background, like a constant hum. The hospital building is a decent size, with several floors and a lot of different departments. Most of our time is spent just trying to keep up with the pace. It gets hectic when there’s a lot of traffic on the road. The waiting room floors are made of that grey tile that you see in most older buildings. Many of our nurses and doctors have been here since they were young. It feels more like a big family than a corporation, to be honest. Lunch happens in a small breakroom where we talk about our kids or the weather. There’s no big mission statement on the wall, just some notices about health and safety. Glossy brochures aren't something we hand out. If you need a hospital and you’re near NH-47, you’ll see our sign. It’s been there for years and it’s a bit faded from the sun. The doors stay open and we do the work that needs doing every single day. It's a lot of work, but we are used to it by now and just keep moving.
