At 1070 Vellarakkad, we spend most of our time out in the yard. It is a mineral business, so there is always a lot of heavy stuff being moved around. The trucks come in and out all day long, and the noise from the engines is something you just get used to. It's dusty work, so we don't wear anything nice to the site. We have a small crew of guys who have been here for years. They know exactly where everything needs to go without being told. We have a little office room, but it’s mostly for keeping the papers from blowing away. The weather in Vellarakkad can be tough, especially when it rains and the ground turns into mud. That makes moving the minerals much harder, but we find a way to get it done. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that. It is just a group of us working hard to fill the orders. We start early and usually finish when it gets too dark to see clearly. Most of the people around here know us because of the trucks. We don't do much talking, mostly just focusing on the job at hand. It is physical work and it keeps you tired, but it is steady. We’ve been at this address for a long time now and we aren't planning on moving the yard anywhere else soon.
