Happy Herbal Care

Our place is in Pothampadam, which is under the Muthalamada Post in Palakkad. We’re at IV/22, right near the State Ware House. It’s a quiet area, mostly surrounded by greenery and trees. We work with herbs and traditional remedies. A small shed is used for drying the plants and another room is where we pack everything. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle started it, and now we all just help out. It smells like dried leaves and ginger most of the time. The floors are made of concrete and they stay cool, which is nice because Palakkad gets very hot. No fancy store here. People from the village come by and just buy what they need from the back door. Sometimes we send packages to the city, but it takes a while to get to the main post office. Big machines aren't used here. Most of the grinding and mixing is done by hand or with small tools. It’s slower that way, but we think it’s better. The neighbors sometimes help us when we have a big harvest of certain leaves. We don't have a big logo or a glossy brochure. We just tell people what we have and they decide if they want it. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We spend a lot of time outdoors checking on the plants. It’s peaceful here.
