Greenkakkattiri Farmer Producer Company Limited is a local group of farmers. We are based at Sebu M.’s place, Thadathiparambil, in Kakkattiri. This is in Pattithara, which is part of the Palghat area. We are a farmer producer company, which basically means we are a bunch of local people working together to handle our produce. It’s not a big corporate entity with a glass building. We operate out of a regular house in the village. Kakkattiri is a quiet spot, and most of us have been farming here for our whole lives. Sebu's place is where we meet up and figure out how to sell what we grow. It’s a practical arrangement that works for us. Palghat has a lot of farming history, and we are just trying to keep that going in our own way. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write pretty things about us. We just know about soil and crops and the weather. Our focus is on the day-to-day work of being farmers. Sometimes the work is hard and the prices aren't great, but we stick together.
