Falcon Flour Mill

Falcon Flour Mill is located in Perinthalmanna, which is a busy part of Malappuram. We have been here for quite a while, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. The mill is where we spend the bulk of our time, surrounded by the smell of crushed grain and the steady hum of the motors. It is a heavy job, lifting sacks that seem to get heavier as the day goes on. We don't have a lot of staff, so everyone chips in with whatever needs doing, whether it is cleaning the equipment or helping a customer load their vehicle. Malappuram can get quite hot, and the mill is not the coolest place to be during the summer months, but we just get on with it. We have a lot of respect for the local farmers and families who rely on us to process their food. It is a responsibility we take seriously, even if we don't talk about it in fancy words. Sometimes the machinery breaks down right when we are at our busiest, which is always frustrating, but we have learned how to do most of the repairs ourselves. It is a noisy, dusty, and honest way to make a living. We don't aim for anything more than just doing our job well enough that people keep coming back when their larders are empty.
