If you walk down Chunnambuthara Road in Vadakkanthara, you will find our building pretty easily. It is the place where the air usually smells like turmeric or chili powder. We have been operating here as Ethnic Spices India Pvt Ltd for a while now. It is a simple setup with a few rooms for grinding and packing. The machines make a bit of noise throughout the afternoon, so we have to talk a bit louder to hear each other. We don't have a big front office with a receptionist. Most of the time, whoever is closest to the door just goes to see who is there. We get our raw spices from different places and then spend the day sorting through them. It is dusty work, and our clothes usually end up smelling like the kitchen by the time we go home. The road outside is busy with people heading toward the temple or the local shops. We just keep our heads down and get the orders filled. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just part of living in this area. We have some heavy bags to move around, so everyone helps out when a truck arrives. It is a steady life and we know the rhythms of the neighborhood well. There isn't much to say other than we are just a local team doing our jobs here for the people who need them.
