I set up Bj'S Art Gallery over in Payyal, Puthupariyaram. It’s not a huge place like the ones you see in the big cities. It is more of a local spot where things are kept simple. I spend a lot of time here just organizing the pieces and making sure everything looks okay on the walls. Puthupariyaram is a quiet area, so it’s a good place for an art gallery. People walk in sometimes just to look around, and that’s fine. I don’t use any big words to describe the art. It’s just stuff that looks good or means something to the person who made it. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so I’m often sweeping. I started this because I liked having art around, and there wasn’t really a place for it nearby. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we do what we can with what we have. It’s just a room with some frames and some colors on the walls. If you are driving through Payyal, you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. There is no big neon sign or anything. It’s just a small door and a window. I usually keep some tea ready if a neighbor drops by. It is just a small business run by someone who likes the local vibe and wants to share some creativity. We keep the doors open because it's what we do. The walls could use paint, but we're focused on what's hanging up.
