As Foods

We’ve been here in Mannengode for a good while now. It’s a quiet part of Palakkad, mostly. The shop isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get the food items ready and send them out. Most days it’s just us handling the bags and making sure everything is where it should be. When we first started near the Pattambi side, we weren't sure how busy it would get, but people around Koppam started noticing us. The building stays a bit cool in the mornings but gets warm by the afternoon. We usually have the doors open so the breeze comes through from the fields nearby. My nephew helps out with the lifting and my wife keeps the books, though she complains about my handwriting sometimes. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few local hands who know the way we like things done. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the rain, which happens a lot here, and we just have to wait it out with some tea. There isn't much to say other than we work hard and keep things moving. We’ve seen the roads change over the years, more cars now than when we opened. Still, the post office is right there and everyone knows everyone. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. That’s how it goes here at As Foods. We are just a small part of this district.
