Our place is located right near the Anakkara Govt. School in Palakkad. It’s quite easy to find once you get into the village, as most people know where the school is. We’ve been processing food items here for a good while now. Most of the people working with us live nearby, so they just walk or bike over in the morning. It can get pretty noisy when the machines are running, especially during the harvest seasons when we have a lot to get through before the day ends. We handle the cleaning and packing ourselves right here on the floor. Sometimes the heavy rain in Palakkad makes things a bit slow and damp, but we keep at it. The exports part means we spend a lot of time on paperwork and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly before they head out on the long drive. It’s a lot of work, but someone has to do it. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. Just the factory floor and a small wooden desk for the bills and ledgers. The kids from the school sometimes play outside our gates in the late afternoon. It’s a nice community to be a part of. We try to keep things simple and honest. If the crop is good, we stay very busy. If it’s a lean year, we just tidy up the place and wait for better times. It is steady work for everyone involved.
