Amna Foods

Amna Foods is located right on Pampampallam Road, which is very convenient since the railway station in Kanjikode is just a short walk away. You can hear the trains passing by throughout the day, which kind of sets the rhythm for our work here. Being so close to the station makes it easier for people to find us, but the road itself can get quite busy with autos and trucks. We handle a lot of food items, so the space is usually filled with the smell of whatever we have in stock at the moment. It’s a functional building, nothing too fancy. We have a loading area where things come in and go out, and then a small office space where we handle the billing and the phone calls. The weather in Kanjikode is often humid, so we keep the windows open and the fans going constantly. Our staff has been with us for a good while, and we all just pitch in where needed. Some days are spent mostly in the back sorting through stock, and other days we are stuck at the desk dealing with the logistics of moving food products around. It’s a local operation, and we like it that way. We know the other shopkeepers along the road and the guys at the station. It’s just about getting the food where it needs to go without making a big deal out of it. We keep things simple and honest here.
