Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital

Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital is situated at Kanal Piruvu, with our mailing address being P.O. Box 120. It is a place that stays quite busy from early in the morning. We see a lot of people coming in from the surrounding villages and towns because of our location near the main road. The building is not brand new, but it is sturdy and has plenty of room for the different eye testing equipment we use. You will usually see a line of people waiting near the registration desk. We have a lot of staff members, from the people who clean the floors to the technicians who run the scanners. It is a lot of work to keep everyone moving through their appointments. The waiting area has a lot of fans to keep things cool, though it can still get warm when it is crowded. We have a routine where we do screenings in one section and more serious checks in another. Outside, there is some space for parking, which is usually full of bikes and a few cars. It is a functional place, meant for handling a lot of patients every single day. We do not have fancy art on the walls, just charts about eye health and signs pointing people to the right rooms. Most of us have been working here for years, so we have seen just about everything. We just take it one patient at a time.
