Adm Rice Mill

The sound of the machines is something you just get used to when you spend your time at Adm Rice Mill. We are out in Vadavannur, near Kollengode, and it’s a very different vibe than being in a city. The air is often filled with a bit of dust from the rice husks, and the smell of raw grain is everywhere. It’s a big, open space where we handle the bags coming in from the local fields. Kollengode is a beautiful area, but inside the mill, it’s all about the hard work of processing the rice. We spend our days watching the machines and making sure everything is moving through the lines correctly. It gets loud and hot, especially during the harvest seasons when there’s a lot of rice to get through. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. Vadavannur is a quiet place otherwise, so the mill is one of the more active spots around here. We see the same faces every week, mostly farmers and truck drivers coming to drop off their loads. The floors are always covered in a fine layer of grain dust no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the job. We’ve been running things this way for a while now, and it suits the rhythm of life here. It’s just a local mill doing what mills do.
