My practice is located on Indrapali Durga Mandir Road in Hiranpur, Pakaur. It is a fairly quiet area most of the time, except for when there are festivals at the Mandir nearby. Then the whole street fills up with people and music. My office is a humble setup, nothing too modern or flashy. I have my old wooden desk and some cabinets filled with medical records that go back many years. Most of my patients are from the surrounding villages and they’ve been coming to see me since they were children. It’s a lot of primary care, dealing with fevers, aches, and the usual things that pop up. The waiting area is just a few benches, and sometimes people have to wait outside if it gets too crowded. I don't have a big team of assistants; it’s mostly just me and a helper. The electricity can be a bit unreliable, so I keep a torch handy for when the lights go out in the middle of an exam. It’s a different pace of life here in Pakaur compared to the big cities. I spend a lot of time just listening to people talk about their lives before we even get to the medical stuff. It’s a long day, usually starting early and finishing late into the evening, but it’s my routine and I’m used to it.
