Divyam Motors

Up here in Pauri Garhwal, things move a bit differently than they do in the cities. Divyam Motors is located inside the Jai Vijay Compound at Anand Chowk. We are quite close to the Padampur Post Office, which is a big help when people are trying to find us for the first time on these roads. The shop is usually busy with someone’s vehicle being looked at or taken apart. It can get a bit crowded in the compound when a few cars show up at the same time. We’ve been here a good while now. It’s not a shiny showroom or anything like that. It’s just a place with tools and spare parts scattered everywhere. The mountain air is nice, but the winters get really cold inside the shop. We usually have a pot of tea going for anyone who stops by to chat while their engine gets checked. We handle whatever comes our way, from small oil changes to bigger jobs that take a few days to finish. Sometimes we have to wait for parts to come up from the plains, which can be a bit of a headache for everyone. But that's just part of living in the hills. Everyone knows everyone around Anand Chowk. We see the same faces every week. It feels more like a community spot than a business sometimes. We just try to keep the cars running so people can get where they need to go on these winding roads. It’s what keeps us busy.
