Vedan Hospital

If you’re driving down BP Road in Pachora, you’ll find us over in the Deshmukhwadi area. This hospital has been standing here for a long time, and the building shows its age a little bit. We’ve got some cracks in the plaster here and there, but the structure is solid. It's a busy part of town, so there is always the sound of scooters and trucks passing by outside. The hospital is usually full of people from the nearby villages who travel in to see us. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a coffee shop or anything like that. Instead, we have a lot of benches and a water cooler that gets a lot of use in the summer heat. The nurses are always rushing around, and the doctors spend most of their day on their feet. It’s a lot of work keeping a place like this running day and night. We have to manage the laundry, the cleaning, and the medicine stocks all at once. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to switch over to the generator, which makes a bit of a racket. It’s just the way things are here. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We are a community hospital that looks after the people who live along BP Road and beyond. It’s a practical place for people who need help, and we try to keep things as simple and honest as we can for them every day.
