Chaska Masala

Chaska Masala is located in Pachora, right near the Main Road in the Jalgaon district. It’s a busy spot because everyone uses that road to get into town. We deal with spices, so the whole place smells like cumin and chili most of the time. It gets into your clothes, but you get used to it after a while. We have a small mill here for grinding, and it makes quite a bit of noise. The neighbors don't mind too much since everyone is doing some kind of business. We buy the raw stuff from the local markets and process it right here. It’s a lot of dusty work. We spend a lot of time bagging the powders and sealing them up. Our hands are always stained with turmeric. We don't have any big fancy marketing plans. We just sell to the local folks and some small shops nearby. Being in Pachora is good because we are close to the farms. The weather gets really hot here, so we try to finish the heavy grinding before noon. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around to help out. We don’t use any big machines, just the basic stuff that gets the job done. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the mix right every time. It keeps us occupied from morning until we close up.
