Jana Nanma Poly Clinic

Being in Vaniamkulam, things move at a certain pace. Jana Nanma Poly Clinic is tucked away here, and it’s become a familiar spot for the local people. We don’t have a big grand entrance or anything like that. It’s just a plain building where we spend our days. Usually, the morning starts with the smell of rain or dust, depending on the season in Kerala. We see a lot of familiar faces, people who live just a few streets away or come in from the smaller spots around Vaniamkulam. The waiting room has some old magazines and some plastic chairs that have seen better days, but they do the job. We try to keep the fans running because it gets quite humid, though they make a bit of a clicking sound sometimes. It’s not the quietest place when the clinic is full, but it feels lived in. We handle the paperwork by hand mostly, and there's a lot of it piled up on the main desk. It’s just us doing what we do, nothing complicated about it. People come in, wait their turn, and tell us what’s wrong. There’s a certain routine to it all that feels right. You might miss the turn if you’re not looking, but once you know where we are, it’s easy. It’s a practical space for the community here, and we just keep the doors open and the lights on for whoever needs to stop by.
