We are based in Murud, which is a small town in the Latur district. Vaidyanath Urban Coop Nidhi Limited is right there in the main part of the village. It’s a very local operation. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the people and the way things go in this part of Maharashtra. Our office is just a simple room with some old wooden desks and a few computers that have seen better days. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy slogans. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the locals to come in with their passbooks. Murud is a place where people work hard, mostly in the fields, and they want a safe place for their small savings. That is why we are here. We spend a lot of time just chatting with members about their families and the crops while we process their entries. It’s not a fast-paced environment. We take our time to make sure the numbers are correct. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out, but that’s just life here. We aren’t trying to grow into some huge bank. We are just a small Nidhi company looking after the needs of our neighbors in Latur. It is straightforward and keeps us busy throughout the week.
