Tulajai Mahila Goat And Poultry Producer Company Limited is based out of Jawalga Mesai in Tuljapur. Rohini Ambadas Deng’s place at House No. 176 is where things happen. It is mostly women here working with the animals. We have got some goats and a good number of chickens too. Every day starts early because the animals do not wait for anyone to wake up. They need water and feed right away. The goats are always making noise when they see us coming with the green fodder. It is a lot of hard work in the sun, especially during the summer months when the water gets low. We spend most of our time out in the sheds or walking the goats around the fields nearby. It is not some big factory. It is just a group of local women trying to run this properly from the village. Sometimes the chicks get sick and we have to stay up late to look after them. The smell of the feed is something you get used to after a few days. We keep our records in old notebooks and try to stay organized as much as possible. People from the taluka know where we are. It is just a simple operation started to keep things moving for the families here. We don't have fancy equipment, just the basic stuff that works for the birds and goats we keep in our small space.
