Out here in Horti, near Tuljapur, things move at their own pace. We spend most of our time at the place Shri Ambadash Kamlakar Kulkarni set up. It is not a fancy setup, just a simple spot for the cows. Every morning starts early, usually before the sun is even fully up, because the animals do not wait for anyone. We spend the day cleaning out the sheds, getting the feed ready, and making sure everyone is healthy. It is hard work on the back and hands, but it feels right to be doing it. Sometimes folks from the village stop by to help or just to see the calves. The shed can get a bit noisy when it is feeding time, but otherwise, it is pretty quiet out here. We do not have a big office or anything, just the space we have at the post. Some days are tougher than others, especially when the weather is not cooperating or water is a bit scarce, but we manage. People know where to find us if they want to talk about the animals or if they have some extra hay to give. It is just us doing what needs to be done every single day. There is always a fence to fix or a cow that needs a bit more attention. We do not really think about it as anything special, it is just our daily life here in the village.
