J.K Tiles

Starting out here at J.K Tiles on the Ahmedpur Latur highway was a big step for us. We are right on the Ambajogai Road, so plenty of people see the shop when they are driving past. It gets a bit dusty with all the trucks on the National Highways, but that is just how it is in this part of Ahmedpur. We spend most of our mornings moving boxes around and making sure things are neat for when someone stops by. Most folks who come in are just looking for something decent for their kitchen or a small bathroom patch-up. We have been sitting here for a while now and we know most of the people around. It is not a huge place, but we keep a good amount of stock so you don't have to wait for weeks. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside for a bit. We don't really do fancy ads or anything. People usually find us because they saw the sign while heading out of town. We show you the tiles, we talk about the price, and we help you load them up. The sun gets quite hot in the afternoons here in Latur, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We’ve got a little back room where we keep the ledger. It is not a high-tech operation, just manual work and talking to people. We’ve seen the road get wider over the years and more shops opening up. It’s a good spot to be, even if the dust from the national highway never really goes away.
