Powmex Steels Division, Turla

Our spot is in Titilagarh, right near the new bus stand in Swadhin Para. If you've ever been to Bolangir district in Orissa, you know it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. We are part of the Powmex Steels Division, specifically the Turla side of things. We use Dr. Goberdhan Sahu’s place as a landmark or care-of address because everyone in this part of town knows where that is. Working with steel means things can get a bit loud and messy. The office isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the paperwork and take a seat when the sun is too much. We see a lot of people coming and going because of the bus stand nearby. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so we are always cleaning the desks. It’s a small team here in Titilagarh. We handle the local logistics and coordination for the steel division. Most of the guys have been in the industry for years and don't care much for fancy titles. We just show up, check what needs to be moved or processed, and get to it. There’s a lot of manual coordination involved. Life moves a bit slower here than in the big cities, but the work is steady. We usually take a long break in the afternoon when the heat is at its worst. It’s just how we manage things around here.
