Sugar Industries

Our office for Sugar Industries is actually located inside the Bombay Hotel building on VSS Marg in Sambalpur. It’s a bit of a busy spot. You have the hotel traffic and people coming in and out of Kali Bari all day. We’ve been operating from this corner for a while. Most of our days are spent dealing with the local trade and checking on orders. The room we work in isn't very large. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people are in there at once. Outside on the street, you can hear the rickshaws and the general noise of the town. We don’t have a big corporate sign or anything. It's just a simple place where we handle our business. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon. We just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It’s not a high-tech operation, but we know the people around here. They know where to find us. Dealing with sugar and the industries around it means we have to keep track of a lot of small details. It keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Most of us have been working together for years. We don't need to say much to get the work done. It’s just the way things go here in Orissa. Things move slow but steady. We just keep the books updated as we go through the various orders and requests that come to our desk every day.
