Our place is the Dalmia Institute Of Scientific And Industrial Research(Ocl). You can find us at Quarter Number B/7 in the Disir Colony. We are located in Jhagarpur, which is part of Rajgangpur in the Sundergarh district of Orissa. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area. The colony itself is where most of the staff lives and works. It’s a very specific kind of environment, being a research setup. We have our labs and our desks tucked away in this residential-style quarter. Rajgangpur is known for its industrial roots, and we are right in the middle of that history. The air here feels different, very industrial but also quiet in the residential pockets. We spend a lot of time on scientific details and industrial projects. It’s not a flashy job. There are no glass walls or modern art in the hallways. It’s just old-fashioned research work in a place that has been around for a long time. People know us by the quarter number. It’s a simple life here in Sundergarh. We stick to our schedules and do our experiments. When the day ends, we are already home because the colony is right here. It makes for a very integrated life. We don't go in for big marketing or try to sound like a tech startup. We are just an institute doing its thing in a quiet corner of Orissa.
