We are Sri Gayatri Agro Oil & Food Products, and you can find us in the Siuni area of the Kalahandi district. Being out here in a more rural part of the country means our life follows the seasons of the farms. We spend our time dealing with oil and various food products that come from the local land. The smells around our facility are usually a mix of seeds and pressed oil. It is a practical environment, not a polished corporate office. We have machinery that runs most of the day, and it can get quite loud in the yard when everything is moving. In Kalahandi, the weather can be a real challenge, with the heat in the summer and the heavy rains that make the dirt roads difficult for the trucks to navigate. We work closely with the local farmers to get the crops we need. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved and we are often covered in dust by the end of a long shift. We eat our meals together and talk about the prices of grain or how the latest harvest is looking. We don't have any fancy mission statements or big advertisements. We just focus on getting the products packed and sent out to the markets where people are waiting for them. It is a simple, honest way to make a living, and we have been doing it this way for years now without any real complaints.
