It’s a rugged part of Orissa, and the work reflects that. We deal with aluminium every single day, and it’s not the kind of job where you keep your clothes clean. The heat in Kalahandi can be something else, especially during the summer months when the sun just beats down on the site. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s just a group of us trying to keep the operations running smoothly. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough, and getting supplies in or out takes longer than we'd like. That’s just part of being out here. We eat our lunch together and talk about the day's tasks. There’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving parts that people don't see. We aren't here to make things sound better than they are. It’s hard work in a tough environment. But we know the area well and we know how to handle the metal. Most people in the village know us by name, and that’s how we like it. We’re just another part of the landscape here. The office is functional and gets the job done, which is all we really need to keep things moving in this corner of the state every single day.
