You can find Smc Power Generation Ltd. over in Rourkela. We are located at Sector 20, specifically in Quarter No. D/32. Being in Rourkela means being right in the middle of a steel city, so there is always a lot of energy and noise around. It is a planned town, so finding the right sector isn't too hard once you get the hang of it. Our office is more like a workspace inside a residential quarter, which gives it a more personal feel than a big glass office tower. We don’t have any receptionists or lobby plants. It is just desks, some chairs, and a lot of technical manuals stacked on the shelves. We spend our time managing the power generation tasks that need attention in the Sundergarh area. The team is quite small, so everyone knows everyone else’s business, which is usually fine with us. We talk about local sports or what is happening in the sector during our tea breaks. The work itself isn't very glamorous. It involves a lot of checking figures and coordinating with the onsite crews. We don’t use much of that fancy business language. We just say things as they are. If a machine is down, we have to get it fixed. If a report is due, we sit down and write it. It is just a regular way of making a living in Orissa. We have been at D/32 for a while now.
