Maithan Ispat Limited , Jajpur

Maithan Ispat Limited has this office set up in Berhampur, over in the Telephone Bhavan building. Specifically, we are near the G.M.T.D office which is a pretty well-known landmark for anyone living in this part of Orissa. The office is managed by Koramoni Mohapatra and it serves as a central point for our activities related to the Jajpur site. Berhampur is a busy town, and being located at the Telephone Bhavan means there is always something going on around us. The building itself is a bit of a maze, but we have our space carved out for the daily grind. It’s not a very big setup, just enough room for the staff to manage the communications and handle the necessary documentation. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through spreadsheets. The walls are mostly bare except for a few calendars and some old notices pinned up. It can get quite hot in the summer months, and the ceiling fans don't always do the job, but we keep the work moving regardless. We aren't here to look important; we are just here to make sure the coordination between the different departments stays on track. Most days involve a lot of checking and re-checking of figures. It is steady, practical work. We usually head out for a quick lunch at one of the small stalls nearby. It’s a very normal, everyday kind of workplace for everyone involved.
