We are based out in Gangnapur, in a small area called Sukantapalley within the Nadia district of West Bengal. It is a village setting, so things are much slower and quieter here than in the big cities. Our office for the National Hydroelectrical Power Corporation is right in the heart of the village. It is a modest building that serves as our main point of contact for the projects in this region. We have been here for a good while, and most of the local villagers know who we are. We don't have any corporate branding or big advertisements. The office is just a plain room with some basic furniture and a lot of technical documents. We spend a lot of time talking to the local community about the water and power works. It’s a very hands-on job. There are no fancy suits here; we mostly wear practical clothes because we are often out in the fields or by the river. The road to the post office is where you will find us. We try to keep things straightforward and honest. Working in a rural area like Nadia means you have to be patient and work with the land and the people. We just do our daily tasks, keep our records straight, and make sure the hydroelectric work keeps moving forward. It’s a quiet but important life here in Sukantapalley. We are just local workers doing our part for the power projects.
