Hind Metals & Industries is situated out in Matia Sahi, which is part of the Anugul district in Orissa. We share a space with Bijay Panigrahi’s place, so it’s a bit of a local landmark if you are from around here. Working in the metal industry in Orissa means you are always dealing with dust and heat, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It's a functional spot where we handle the daily grind of metal processing and industrial supplies. Most of the guys here are from the local villages. We spend a lot of time checking the loads and making sure the transport is ready to go. Anugul is a heavy industrial area, so there is always noise from the plants nearby. We just focus on our bit of the work. Sometimes the roads get muddy during the monsoon, making it hard to move materials, but we manage. It’s a straightforward operation.
