Kamdar Constructions (P) Ltd.

This branch of Kamdar Constructions (P) Ltd. is out in Meramandali, Dhenkanal, over in Orissa. We are working on the BSL project right now. Sanjoy Dhibar is the one looking after things here. It’s a different vibe than being in a big city like Pune or Kolkata. Out here, it’s all about the project site. We spend most of our time in the dust and the heat, making sure the work at Meramandali stays on track. It’s a big undertaking and it keeps us very busy. We don't have a traditional office with carpets and air conditioning. It’s more of a functional space where we can store our gear and have our meetings. The conditions can be tough, especially when the weather isn't cooperating, but the team here is used to it. We deal with the logistics of getting materials to a more remote area, which is always a bit of a puzzle. We aren't here to make fancy speeches about our goals. We are just here to build what needs to be built. Every day has its own set of problems to solve, from equipment breaking down to coordinating with the main project managers. We just take it one day at a time. It’s a long way from home for some of us, but we’ve got a job to do and we’re doing it. That’s really all there is to say about what we do.
