West Nature Cottages

We are up on Hat Slie Road, which is quite close to the lake. West Nature Cottages is not a big hotel; it is more of a quiet place for people to stay when they want to be away from the main town noise. The cottages are simple and built to handle the weather we get up here. It gets damp and cold sometimes, so we spend a lot of time keeping the rooms dry and aired out. The garden around the buildings needs a lot of work because the plants grow so fast in this climate. We have a couple of staff members who help with the cleaning and the cooking. The road outside can be a bit bumpy and narrow, especially when it rains. We do not have a big reception desk or a 24-hour concierge. Usually, one of us will meet you when you arrive and show you where everything is. It is a very laid-back way of doing things. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the location, but that is just part of being near the lake and the trees. We like the quiet here. People usually come for a few days to just walk around and look at the view. It is an honest, simple place to stay without any of the fancy stuff you get in the big city hotels. We grow some of our own vegetables in the back plot and the kitchen usually has a pot of tea ready for whoever is around. It is a small business run by people who actually live on the property for most of the year.
