You can find Shoe Point over at Number 55 Chharing Cross Road. It's a busy street and we’ve been part of it for a good bit of time. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside. Inside, it smells like leather and rubber, which is what you'd expect. We have a few mirrors bolted to the walls so people can see how the shoes look. Sometimes the door sticks when it's humid out. We get all sorts of people coming in from the offices nearby. Some are looking for something formal, others just want sneakers for the weekend. I spend most of my day chatting with the regulars who live around here. We don't have a computer system for the inventory; we just know where things are. It’s mostly in my head or written in a ledger. Chharing Cross has its own vibe, and we just fit into that. The overhead lights flicker once in a while. We should probably fix that. My dad started this place and I took over. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, ironically. We keep a fan going in the corner because it gets stuffy. There’s no big philosophy here. We just sell shoes. If they fit, they fit. We try to be helpful but we aren't pushy. That's how we like to do things. It’s just a normal shop on a famous road.
