Up here in the Nilgiris, life moves differently than it does down in the plains. My office is in Ajjoor Village, which is part of the Kagguchi Post area. The air is always a bit cooler here, and the view is mostly green hills and trees. I go by the name Kshanmugam and I’ve been doing this consulting work from my house for quite some time. It is a small place, very local, and everyone in the village knows where it is. If you get lost, you can just call me at 9843559914, and I’ll tell you how to find the path. I don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, people just sit on the bench outside until I’m ready to see them. We talk about their crops, their land papers, or whatever else they need help with. The mountains have a way of making everything feel less urgent, which is good for the kind of thinking I have to do. Sometimes the rain gets so loud on the roof that we have to stop talking for a minute. I don't need a fancy office in the city because my work is here with the people of Ajjoor. It’s a quiet existence, and I spend a lot of time walking the trails when I’m not at my desk. This is just a small local business trying to be useful to the neighbors in the 643214 area. I feel lucky to live and work in such a beautiful part of India.
