Saptagiri Boilded & Raw Rice Mill

We are out on Kurnool Road in Pernamitta at Plot Number 5-78/1. The mill handles both boiled and raw rice so there is always something going on. Saptagiri is the name we use but most folks just call it the rice mill on the road. The boilers make a lot of steam and it gets very humid inside the building. You can see the steam rising from a distance sometimes. The trucks come off Kurnool Road and pull into our yard which is mostly dirt and gravel. It gets muddy when it rains and then the trucks get stuck which is a real headache. We have a big scale for the vehicles and we spend a lot of time checking the weights. The work is dirty and we all wear old clothes that we don't mind getting ruined. Inside the mill the floors are hard concrete and our boots make a lot of noise. We don't have any fancy signs or decorations. It is just a functional place for processing grain. We have a small shaded area where we sit during lunch to get away from the heat of the machines. The Pernamitta area is mostly farmland around us so we are close to where the rice grows. We just keep the machines running and try to stay on top of the schedule. We don't talk much while the noise is going but we get the job done.
