Arul Bricks

Arul Bricks is located right on the Yercaud Main Road in Semmandapatt. Being at number 99 makes it pretty easy to spot us as you are driving along that stretch. We have a big open area where we keep the bricks stacked up high. The traffic on the main road is always moving, so there is a constant sound of buses and cars passing by while we work. We focus on the daily tasks of mixing, molding, and firing. It's heavy work and our hands are always stained with the color of the earth. We don't have a big office or a lobby. Usually, if you come by, you’ll find us out in the dirt or sitting under the shade for a quick break. The weather in Semmandapatt can be a bit unpredictable, which changes how we dry the bricks, but we’ve learned to deal with it over the seasons. We get a lot of locals stopping their bikes to ask about a load for a wall or a small room they are building. We don't use any fancy language or sales tactics. We just show them what we have on the ground and tell them when the next batch will be ready. It’s a simple life out here on the road. The sun beats down on the yard all day, but that’s what makes the bricks solid. We just keep moving and making sure the trucks are loaded up correctly before they head out.
