Being in the tape and packaging business means things get a little messy sometimes. At Vardhman Tapes & Packaging Pvt. Ltd., we spend most of our time surrounded by rolls of adhesive and big stacks of cardboard. There is always that distinct smell of glue in the air, which you get used to after a few days. Our space is mostly taken up by the machines and the inventory. It isn't a quiet place; there is a constant hum and the sound of tape being pulled off the big rolls. We don’t have a fancy office with leather chairs. It’s more of a practical setup with metal desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time checking the tension on the machines and making sure the rolls are cut to the right size. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to pitch in to get it running again. It’s manual work and it can be tiring, but it feels good to see the warehouse fill up with finished products ready to be shipped out. We usually eat our lunch together near the back loading dock when the weather is nice. We aren't a huge operation, just a group of people who know how to handle packaging materials. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the orders out the door without any unnecessary delays. It is a simple way to make a living.
