Stark Packmate is all about the boxes and the protective wrap. We spend our time surrounded by stacks of cardboard and rolls of plastic film. It is a bit of a repetitive job, but it’s something that needs doing. You would be surprised how much thought goes into a simple shipping box. We have to make sure they are the right size and that they can actually hold the weight they are supposed to. The warehouse is a bit cold in the winter because the big loading doors are always open for the trucks. We just wear extra layers and keep moving to stay warm. We aren't a high-tech company. We just have some basic cutting machines and a few industrial staplers. It is not very loud in here, just the sound of tape being pulled and boxes being folded up. We have a small office where we keep the invoices, but most of us are out on the floor with the material. The name Stark makes us sound a bit more modern than we probably are in real life. We are just a local business trying to keep up with the orders that come in. Sometimes the cardboard gets stuck in the machines and we have to spend an hour cleaning it out. That is just part of the day. We don’t have any big goals other than finishing our work.
