S.S.ELECTRONICS

Our little shop is located right there in Uripok Sorbon Thingel. We have been here in the Kabrabam Leikai area of Imphal for a long time now. It’s not a big fancy showroom like you see in the malls. We just have our workbenches and shelves full of parts. Most of the time, the place is a bit of a mess with wires and half-fixed gadgets laying around. People from the neighborhood bring in their old television sets or those small radios that stopped working. Sometimes we can fix them in an hour, other times we have to wait weeks for a specific part to come in from outside Manipur. The road outside gets pretty busy and loud during the day, but we mostly just keep our heads down and work on whatever is on the desk. We don’t have any fancy uniforms or anything like that. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. The weather gets really humid here, and that isn’t great for electronics, so we spend a lot of time cleaning out dust and rust from inside the machines. We know most of the people who walk past our door by their first names. It’s a quiet life mostly, just trying to keep things running for the folks around here. We don't have a big website or anything, just this spot on the street where we’ve always been since the beginning.
