Here at Skill Rollers Pvt Ltd., things are pretty straightforward. We make rollers. It sounds simple, and in a way, it is, but it takes up all our time. The factory floor is where everything happens. We have these heavy machines that run most of the day, and you have to yell a bit just to be heard over them. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. Most of us have been working here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. We handle a lot of metal and rubber, and by the end of the shift, everyone's hands are pretty dirty. There’s no fancy lobby or reception area with plants. Just a door that leads straight into the workspace. Sometimes we have issues with the power or a machine acting up, and we have to spend half the morning fixing it ourselves. That’s just part of the job. We don't really do big meetings or presentations. We just look at what needs to be made for the day and get to it. Lunch is usually spent sitting on whatever crates are around, talking about the local news or family. It’s a decent living. We take pride in the fact that the rollers we make actually work like they’re supposed to. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the machines running and the orders moving out the door on time. It’s a lot of physical work, but it keeps us busy.
